A Life in Music

Starting at the age of 15 in Memphis, Tennessee, I began my musical journey with a group called The Montegos. This was the beginning of a lifelong career filled with incredible artists, legendary recording studios, and unforgettable stages.

I had the opportunity to professionally back artists such as O.V. Wright and Ann Peebles at the historic Hi Records, the home of legendary artist Al Green.

I later became a member of The Changing Scene Band, another Memphis group that backed renowned artists including O.V. Wright and Ollie Nightingale. My journey also took me to Stax Records, where I had the privilege of being part of The Jackie Wilson & Joe Simon Review. This experience opened the doors to bigger stages and new opportunities.

With our band, I recorded the 45 single “Magic Love” for King Records of Nashville.

During my time in Atlanta, Georgia, I had the opportunity to work with The Delfonics, the legendary Philadelphia soul group. My musical journey then continued to Springfield, Missouri, where I performed with Granny’s Bathwater, backing Martha Reeves of Motown Records.

From there, I worked with Rare Earth of Motown Records, followed by The Black Stallion Band, where I produced the album Black Stallion, featuring Benny Mahan.

My journey continued with The Tiptones, including the project “Take Your Jacket Off” for my company, F&S Audio, where I was involved in writing, producing, and developing the group.

Through every chapter of my career, music has remained my passion—a journey of creativity, collaboration, and unforgettable experiences.
